Animal Shelter progress

By Lindamn - on Jan 25, 2012
Posted in Lindamn

I am pushing myself too hard and having back pain and numbness in legs and feet and hands but worth it, as once I get the shelter going then I can slow down again, but also have help now as well. I have several people now helping me rescue animals, and to help get things together to get this shelter opened and running. If things keep going at this pace I may be lucky and have a shelter in this area open by summer.

I am a property manager In Orlando Fl . Lots of my tenants have been losing their job due to economy circumstance. How could I help assist them during this time with out having to evict them? And find a solution to insure property gain and losses. I'm very aware of non- profit in the area that might assist such at churches. But I would like to take it further than that and find some sort of partner ship with such group. Please contact me at Eileen.alvarez33@gmail.com . Thank you and God bless America.;)

Hello: I have just started a grant writing coarse and am halfway through it, was wondering if any successful grant writers out there can give me any input on reserach, networking, any programs that are helpful I know there is alot of work and time involved. Any input would be helpful. Fopr starters we have started a non-profit to bring native american elders and youth together as one as opposed to seperate programs a cultural exchange if you will. So any info pertaining to this area of grant writing expertise would be desired. I thank you for your time! And may you walk in strength and beauty eternal!

yes, it's clear as mud! lol- i keep plugging away trying - we'll see what happens... I don't have 1800 to start a non-profit- and horrific credit from a bad divorce so loans are out of question that's why i'm going the grants route...

I'll just keep looking to see what I can find.... it's impossible to find money like so many others do and it seems those that do make claims based on those "pay for use" grant finders so I doubt they really received grants!

your help and comments are appreciated... i'm thinking of just going back to school with grants and doing it that way... only thing I can think of to get a job and not do this blood sweat & tears start up stuff... i'm getting too old for all this stress...

You are about in the same boat that I am in.You have a couple of choices:

1. Come up with approximately $1800.00 and form your non profit then you can apply for the grants, other than individual. With the grant you can recoup from the $1800.00

2. You can go to Grant.gov and look though the individual grants, and there aren't many, that is if you know how to properly write a grant AND it is accepted. Don't assume that it will be granted.

3. You can pay $40.00 to $3,000.00 depending on the grant writer, and how good they are, to write a grant for you to get it all started, again if it is accepted.

4. Go to Grantgate or The Money Retriever download the programs, put in your information , find what you get matched up with, and started applying for the grant they have listed. Gantgate is mainly foundations and The Federal Money Retriever is governmental of course. The website even tells you how to write a grant both help you write a letter of inquiry and they also help you write an application.

But you still have to remember that it has to be accepted. That's about it, or you can spend ootals of money on the CD's and pay about thirty bucks a month  for the "priviledge" of being in their club and have a grant counselor 'guide' you on 'your' writing of the grant or you can pay more to have them write it for you. Then, if you are lucky and found a halfway honest "club"they will send it of and it comes back down to "if" it is accepted you'll get a grant. Then again you can spend some money on books or e Books that will tell you about the same thing that I have just told youbut will give you all names, places, phone numbers, and web addresses to these places.

You'll still have to write a grant or have some one do it for you,or help you and again it comes down to "if" it gets accepted.

Does this clear it up for you? Clear as mud?

One thing that is wrong is the perception that it is going to be quick. Sure a few have been, which makes it OK for the scam artist to claim so and so recieved this grant in 7 days.

Then there is the understanding of what a grant is. If you sign up for Aid that's a grant. If you sign up for food stamps that's a grant. If you get help from some of these organizations that are mentioned in any of these pages those are grants.

You have one more option. You can start the business with the help of the small business administration, later on convert it to a non profit then apply for grants. The SBA will help you with a loan and sometimes, depending, a grant. I just wanted to be sure to cover all the bases. I think that has covered just about all of it. Anyone can tell you if there is more, but I think I have covered it .

Oh, you can scan the internet for the one page application for a grant, or the on line grant application but it will come back to"if" it is accepted and that is "if" you can find it without being swindled.

If you need more information on the subject let me know because I have done all the above. So I know what I'm telling you. That's why I decided to be on Aidpage and help other reach for that ring.Give them the information that I have, I've even given away an E Book on How to Obtain Grant from the Government. I still do!

Because like some of the others on here, for what ever their reasons are, I decided that someone needs to help us, you and me to know what the truth is and what real honest help there is out there.

Hope this has been a help for you and if you want I can try to find some that will fit your situation. Let me know. But you might be better off just starting a business for profit and go a different route with it, like maybe getting a government contract to do this work for them.Something to kick around. Good Luck on your choices and may god Bless.

 in response to HelpGiveUSHope...

I agree, there is a great need for non-profit foundations for those "In Need"....which is the foundation I eventually would like to get off the ground.  And I've been working since early 07 myself to get such a foundation going through my website Resourcefully For You, but unfortunately & sadly there just  hasn't been any funds and/or donations to enable me to get such a foundation off the ground, let alone sustain it.  It's taken me two years of constant work, upgrading, advertising & promoting Resourcefully For You just to get it to where it is today.

So if anyone has any significant ideas or suggestions, I would love to hear them because it really is tough these days to try and offer such services or start a truly needed foundation for several reasons, one being that there are so so....many scams & scammers out there who don't really care deep down, so people  aren't willing to donate unless a foundation is led by an already established significant & well-known trustworthly person.  It's like you've seen one foundation, charity or program asking for donations & help...you've seen them all...on to the next.  And unfortunately, for those who want to truly want to help, while also make a living themselves...it just makes it very difficult.

I wish you luck in getting your foundation off the ground, and if you become successful, I hope you will share your strategies, as there is definately the need for more foundations that will truly help those in dire need.  Currently, the only foundations I'm aware of that help such in need ...small loans, etc. is "Modest Needs" and one other that I know of, but they have soooo many applicants they approve very few applicants...no where near what is needed.

Sorry for the long post, it seems once I get started writing, I always have much to say...sometimes to much.  I apologize.  I just wish there was so much more than I could do..it never feels like it's enough, especially when I come to Aidpage and read on a daily basis all the extraordinary needs of others. :(

Help Give US Hope is based on the foundation of our new President, Obama. He tells us to HOPE, and with comes CHANGE. But, I will not sit down and watch the world go round, without jumping in to Help Give US Hope.

We can not wait, and see what someone will do. We need to look for help, and ask.

I Hope, my organization will have funds by mid April, so that all in need can log on www.HelpGiveUSHope.org and requst help. In the mean time, we are looking for donations; government grants, business sponsorships and donars; and individuals or families with enough to help others.

I just read some of your posts and I had to only imagine what it's like to battle addiction.  I've met a lot of people and I understand.

This is what I suggest.  Put this AidPage as your home page.  Anytime, you want to get a drink, donate the amount of money you would have spent on a drink.  That donation will go toward helping someone who will use that money for groceries, gas, childcare and health care or something else.

Also, you are not only trying to break the addiction for yourself.  It is also for your teenager.  When you start paying attention to your daughter, you will find that it is not too late to be a better role model.

I think you are a good person.  Be that good person to your daughter.  She will benefit from it.  Make this next moment your new moment and a step toward a newer and better you.

Gary25, I felt so overwhelmed today.  Coming back to this site helps because I see other people suffering.  When I concentrate on helping someone else, I am also helping myself.

I think if we can't see or figure a way out, no one else can.  And if someone tries to help, we are helping that person help us by trying to help ourselves first.  Keep on trying.

There is one thing I've learned is you won't get the help you need if you don't try to help yourself. It is very humbleing to start a new life free and clear of pain, abuse ,health problems but asking for help is something I couldn't do unless I was trying myself. thank you again for an uplifting post

Pain can be emotional and it could be so deep that only someone who has been through it can see it in one's eyes. I know a lot of people on this board need assistance. We are all in need at this time, and many of the need is not through our own fault. The government can only do so much. We need to feel empowered and try to do what we can in our own ways to create the waves that will help the nation transform. I was so ashamed when I started asking for help, but when you need the help, you need to ask, otherwise no one will know you need it. The first step could be as simple as posting a photo of yourself.

Fortunately there is still a lot of financial help available for Katrin victims. The government has taken a lot of flack for its lack of efforts. Find your local FEMA office and ask them about available programs. Were you not one of the victims that got the $3000 cash payment? If not you should look into that! There are some more Katrina-related assistance programs that I have listed on my site.

Prison Ministry needs your help today

By Arkyfaith - on May 21, 2007... modified on May 21, 2007
Posted in Arkyfaith

Arkyfaith Church was conceived by the vision of Pastor Deborah M. Bailey to help lost souls find the true path to Christ, by having many outreach programs available. The church was open for operation in February 2004. Since that time it has became an outreach portal in the following areas:

Shut – INS
Youth groups
Prison Ministry
Mentoring program
Bible study by mail
Caring card ministry
Feeding the hungry worldwide
Christmas cards to the troops
Other charitable events

Our current project: Bibles for prisoners

Our plan is to reach prisoners worldwide and offer bibles and bible studies to those who are forgotten by society. Our project also includes our caring card ministry, which is our initial contact with such prisoners. A postcard and gospel tract is mailed to each prisoner. We acquire their names through varies means, prayer requests from loved ones, other churches or non profit organizations that work with prisons worldwide. The status of said prisoner is not of concern, meaning that any prisoner qualifies for our program. Once said prisoner has received his or her care card envelop a postcard already pre stamped and addressed to the church can be returned for our services.

Our problem lies within the means of financial donations which are currently limited and fall well below operating standards.

The purposed amount we are seeking with your particular institution is $1000. Our total yearly cost of this endeavor is estimated at a little over $72,000, especially with the rising costs of stamps and supplies. This amount is sure to double within the next 5 years.

Reaching he lost is our life mission. No one can be spared at any cost.

Thank you for your generous consideration and time

Grant to pay bills in order to clear credit to start a business

By tfpayne7 - on Feb 28, 2007
Posted in tfpayne7

I am the parent of a child with emotional behaviors disorders. In receiving help for my son, I worked hard to educate myself about children's mental health. I've been working in that field for the last eight years at all level. I've even worked at the state level. There are a lot of needs that families with children like mine have, that currently aren't available. I want to start a non profit to address these needs. To receive a SBA loan my credit needs to be cleared. I have debt that when I was paying I paid regularly but because I had some sucessions of unexpected debt occur I became unable to pay for a while. When I tried to set up sometime to help me be able to continue paying them, agents were so rude and wouldn't help me. I'm seeking help to be able to take care of these debts to clear my credit.
